June 2013 Pt. II: 1st crusher day

(and the day we had to apply again for full planning!)

Crushing the outbuildings stone and recling for new driveway base, stables base and, if we have any left, the sub ground bearing slab layer. Thanks to Lewis from tlc plant for his crusher – based just down the road in Crediton!

It turns out that the plans we had approved showed the new build in the wrong location – if we had continued we would have had to knock down the existing house before starting. Unfortunately the 8 metre move requires a full new application. Ho-hum…

Driveway leveled and in. Stables relocated. Driveway and car park covered with crushed stone from old outbuildings. Main excavation now started – excavated soil/stone/clay going into mounds that will become the ‘devon banks’ that will form the hedgerow linking east and west boundaries.
