Part 1: Marj gives us the thumbs up so we are completing her flat (minus the kitchen that arrives in August).

Part 2: Constructing and installing the staircase.

Boris very happy and spending a lot of time descending / ascending to make sure he knows where everyone is.

Part 3: the lift:

Marj will need a lift to get her upstairs so we get the opportunity to use the lift shaft as intended. Large Wessex lift – reconditioned, delivered and installed by the fabulous Andy Melling – and a good job too. We thought we should be able to do it ourselves but not a chance – far too many moving parts that need experience to install correctly and avoid problems later. Thank you Andy!

Notice the unplastered wall on the right hand side in the pickies below. We managed to misinterpret the instructions even before the lift arrived! All the plasterboard and insulation had to be removed so we could fit the frame into the first floor. Neville loved that job. Thankfully it only put us back half a day.

Next: Mike and Neville plaster boarding the workshop so we can plaster and paint in early August, and fill with the old bungalow contents before we demolish it in mid August.
