Update: 2nd May: Sewage treatment pipework completed and plant commissioned as planned. Bungalow ‘pool room’ emptied as planned. Diverting attention to completing downstairs first so we can store everything we need to properly before clearing space and completing upstairs. Unplanned: hips need replacing – changing strategy to fast tracking completion – hiring Mike Hardy for another couple of months – July and August to help with first and second fix – studwork, services and plaster boarding. Perhaps some cladding prep if we have time left. It means raiding the pension fund for more money earlier than planned but we can hopefully replenish in the future.
Now we are in, warm and dry, we can focus on the completion work. There’s still a lot to do. This month, hopefully, we will complete the sewage treatment install and complete the internal studwork upstairs. This means emptying the old bungalow so we can use it to store the timber from demolishing the pool room to use for the new house studwork and convert the old kitchen into the wood-work-shop.

Our April 1 lucky break. Gusty winds blew over the tower scaffolding….
Week 1: completing sewage treatment plant pipework – connecting the perforated pipe section to the ephemeral stream. Incredibly lucky with the dry weather…
